Big Mammals Tour
Minimum : 2 persons.
DAY 1 Friday Arrive in Libreville and transfer to the train station for a departure to Lope National Park (20H30/02H00), then transfer to Lope hotel.
DAY 2 Saturday Morning: rest and relax near the swimming pool. Afternoon game drive in Lope National Park looking for buffalos, elephants, antelopes, monkeys, birds. Night at the Lope hotel.
DAY 3 Sunday Morning: walking safari, spotting small animals and observing tracks, nests and drops. Afternoon game drive in the savannas.
DAY 4 Monday Transfer to Mikongo camp at 8h00 from the hotel by 4 wheel drive car (1h30). Mikongo, deep in the forest, it is a research centre for primate studies. Briefing about forest walks and environment. After lunch walk in the forest looking for chimpanzees, black colobus, gorillas if lucky, and other forest mammals, monkeys and birds.
DAY 5 Tuesday Complete day walk in forest.
DAY 6 Wednesday Walk in the morning. Lunch and transfer to Lope hotel . Overnight.
DAY 7 Thursday Excursion with motorised dugout canoe on the river or by 4WD car to visit an important archaeological site of rock engravings or game drive. Train back to Libreville at 16h00 arriving at 21h00 then transfer to hotel Tropicana.
DAY 8 Friday Transfer to the airport for a flight to Port Gentil, then connect by boat (3 hours) to Omboué and to Loango Lodge at Iguela by a four-wheel drive car. Lunch and first excursion in the national park – Dinner. During the dry season there is the possibility (with a supplement) to stay in AKAKA swamp camp, 70 km south Iguela, where the games are gathering in search of water.
DAY 9 Saturday Departure in the heart of Loango to Louri or Tassi close to the beach in order to spot the big mammals walking around.
DAY 10 Sunday Morning safari and return to Omboué, the boat to Port Gentil and fly to Libreville. Tropicana Hotel.
DAY 11 Monday Transfer to the airport for a flight back home.
Hotels, lodges and camps :
TROPICANA: is a simple and small hotel located on the beach and not far from the airport.
Rooms with shower/toilets and air conditioning, good restaurant.
LOPE HOTEL: Charming place on the banks of the river with wooden bungalows and swimming pool. Comfortable rooms with shower / toilet and air conditioning.
MIKONGO: 6 rustic wooden bungalows and a dining hall, private bush shower and toilets.
LOANGO LODGE: Recently rebuilt, this very comfortable and charming lodge offers 10 bungalows with toilets and shower, hot water, air conditioning. Meals served in the lagoon restaurant.
TASSI/AKAKA: rustic tented camps. Outside bush toilets and shower.
Price per person: euro 3198 sharing a double room, supplement of euro 500 for a single room.

All transfers, transports, domestic flights, accommodation, meals (except in Libreville and in the train), excursions, local guides in the parks and entry fees.
Do not include:
Drinks (even bottled water) , tips, personal insurance and visa
Prices are valid at the time being. Any increase of costs of carriers, hotels and lodges will be added as long as the total payment of the trip has not been completed.
